  • Where do I start? Well I about one week ago my dog had signs that something was wrong. I took him here immediately to do some tests for blood and urine. The results came in about a day or two later and the vet called me to tell me that my dog had a uti. He told me the medication was at the counter and I could get it whenever. I went the next day to pick it up. At this point I had already paid 400$ for blood, urine, and antibiotics. Over the next day I gave my dog the antibiotic and then I realized after that he stopped eating. Which I don't think had anything to do with the medication. Anyways. I called the vet back and they told me to try to feed him chicken and rice. I said he isn't eating anything. Something is wrong. They told me that I could come in the next day. At this point I assumed it was the medication making him nauseous. I took him in the next day. The vet came in and told me that he had kidney disease. I was in complete shock because he never told me that before. He said he told me over the phone when he told me about the uti. I know he didn't tell Me that because I would have been panicking. So we are at the vet and he tells me he needs to stay over night and get fluids. Which I of course would never say no if it has to do with saving my dogs life. He tells me the quote which is 1100$. I say ok. My dog stays the night and he told me he would have test results to see why his calcium levels were so and it was a "strange case". I call the next day and no results. He says he has to stay another night. I say ok because im not a vet and I wasn't going to question him or waste time if my dogs life is on the line. He told me the next morning I would have the results. I call him at 8 am. No results. Call back at 1030-11. No results. At this point my dog hasn't eaten in days. He was getting fluids but that's it. I did so much googling myself at home and pretty much found the answers myself. I called one last time and he said maybe we should just move forward with X-rays because the results aren't in yet. I said no I am taking him out of your care. I asked for the bill and they said to call back in an hour for it. They are soooooo unorganized and all over the place. When I arrived 30 mins later to pick up my dog of course the results were coincidentally in. He wanted me to move forward with the x rays which were 4-500 when I didn't even no the results of the last test he did which took 2 nights to receive. I picked up my dog and he told me what it could be and I already knew that from google. Took very long to get my poor baby out of the back. His leg swollen from the ivs. Then a nurse or worker handed me a bag of medications. Did not explain one thing to me and gave me a recommendation to someone who was a specialist. Now I'm wondering if he knew the whole time my dogs calcium levels were high and he knew he had "kidney disease". Why wouldn't he send me to this specialist right away ?! I wasted precious days waiting for results. And not to mention spent the 1600$ there !! When I went to the next place which is amazing and caring. I had to pay 2200$ for the same tests done. And he may need surgery after I actually find out some results. So I spent almost 4000$ in a week. And it's not the money. It's the time wasted in not finding what's the wrong with him ! And I could of used the first 1600$ towards what's really wrong. This new place actually gives him a feeding tube as well so he isn't starving to death and he isn't trying to b "force fed" as he said. The only reason I took him here because i didn't think it was an emergency until I was put on the spot and pressured. It was an emergency, and he should of recommended this new place to me the first second he was there. Now my baby is at an emergency room getting the care he needs and hopefully will recover even though precious time was wasted ! I will never bring any of my pets here again. Money hungry and drag precious time out when pets need urgent care !!!
