| - I would like to share my *very bad* experience with Dollar Car Rental.
As many of the travelers, who are trying to find a "best" deal online, we were fooled by the cheap price advertising and secured out booking about two months prior the travel date.
Proactively, we called the rental office 1 day before our arrival and verified with the service rep that the car would be available for us.
Once arrived to their office in Las Vegas, after waiting about an hour in the line (!), we were told that there were no cars available at the moment.
The service rep also mentioned this was due to fact we were late (!).
Additionally, he said they were trying to reach us out, but couldn't as we did not leave our phone contact info.
"Unfortunately, many customers do not leave their phone numbers during an online booking..." he mentioned.
FYI, we weren't asked for the phone number at any stage of the online booking process, the primary contact was an email address.
Of course, we did not receive a single notification from them.
No apologies at all, the rep was trying to convince us it is totally our fault..
Later on, we noticed he was telling the same story to every next person in the line.
Our demand to speak with the rental office manager was gently declined - "the manager is not available...".
As a result, we spent the rest of the day in stress of looking for another car instead of enjoying the city...
Conclusion: this company is practicing a "brute force" overbooking (perhaps, I should say a scam).
Stay away from a cheap rental companies and Dollar Car Rental in particular! Do not ruin your vacation.
