  • I usually never write reviews, but really would hope that this review might help the Hakim Optical on McLeod Trail South Calgary, improve their service. I'm writing on behalf of my son who is vey independent but is Living his life in a wheelchair. He is very confident and can handle his situation extremely well. He's purchased at least 2 pairs of glasses from this particular Hakim Optical and have had to come to this location at least 4 times for repairs. The glasses are inexpensive but also CHEAP. He feels okay to get cheap glasses- but I also wear glasses and would never get them here. I need better quality and because I run a full service cosmetic/ salon/ and spa in the city, my glasses are an extension of myself and need them to look great - fashionable and quality. They have a lot of what looks like fashionable eyewear, but I went through the whole store, nothing looked good on me. Now, to the real reason I'm writing a review - the SERVICE is AWEFUL. Not just once - but at least 5 out of the 6 or more times we were there. We were not greeted for a long time. M a y b e once. We would walk around unattended and waiting, even though there were staff clearly not occupied with a client or a project. My son would approach the desk area to get some help and would wait. When some one would finally check to see what he wanted - there was never a smile and really he felt that the staff was annoyed that they would have to help him. No real willingness to help, no verbal "thank you, hello , good bye". I have been really UNIMPRESSED with the product and especially the LACK of Service. I constantly tell my staff that "service is everything" and that people may every once in a while catch you in a situation that they might misunderstand as unattentive. Whether you're on the phone, in the middle of a job, or distracted by something. Pay attention and acknowledge everyone. Body language, eye contact and a SMILE - if you've messed up ... Over compensate somehow. No ones perfect. I always allow for a slip up now and again, but obvious- not caring is not acceptable! CHEAP quality - personal choice. HORRIBLE SERVICE - 2 or more times in a row? Really? Ya- I'm going to tell everyone I know how AWEFUL you made not only my son feel, but how sad and disappointed you made me feel. This Probably won't affect your Business at all - so many commercials, and cheap prices works, but - COME ON HAKIM - someone step up and teach great customer service to the sad staff at your McLeod Tr. south across from Chinook centre.
