This place... I will forever have doubts and guilty memories surrounding the passing of my 18 year old cat, thanks to comments made by staff. My cat had not been doing well, stopped eating, barely drinking, could hardly walk or hold her head up so we made the most difficult decision of putting her to sleep. We had an appointment set for Friday at her regular vet but on Wednesday night finding her under the bed after not coming out in 18 hours with a strange foul smell and black liquid coming from her mouth I knew it was time and I was only being selfish for making her wait. So we got in the car and took her to blue pearl. I was obviously already a wreck and then I had to be badgered by the extremely rude front office staff. I was then taken to the back by the same woman that was being extremely rude and insensitive to our delicate situation. She then told me all of her symptoms could be relieved by a "simple dental cleaning." I was made to feel like I was making a terrible choice when all I wanted was for my sweet kitty, and best friend of 18 years not to suffer any longer. I will now forever remember that comment and her insensitive nature, I have guilt wondering now if her situation could have been prevented even though she had a clean bill of health in August by her primary vet. Dr. Caress was caring and compassionate and I'm glad for that because I was terrified that I had made the wrong choice of bringing her to this place that lacked compassion.
