  • Not sure where to start. I got 4 veneers done a little over a year ago from the previous dentist that was at this location and it was a nightmare from day one. It was a 2 month process. From having to remove my old veneers, to putting on temps, to going to the lab to getting the permanent set put on. Immediately I noticed the color wasn't consistent. 1 was a solid white and the other 3 were more translucent. The shape was off. 1 veneer was bigger than the other. The list goes on and on. I went in and voiced my concerns and he agreed to redo them. I went through the whole process yet again only to be unhappy with them. The shape is better but the color on all of them has a gray tint. The color of my teeth remind me of dirty dish water. I'm so insecure about the color and I never smile showing my teeth anymore. As unhappy as I was I just didn't want to go through the process again so I've just dealt with them up until now. A few months ago my gums above my veneers stared getting irritated and I noticed a foul smelling odor coming from the top of them so I made an appointment for a cleaning thinking that would help. While I was there I told the dental hygienist the issues I was having and she had the nerve to recommend I get a water pik and rinse with peroxide morning and night. I also voiced my concerns to Dr. Sobhi and he literally looked at my teeth for a few seconds and said everything looks fine. He completely brushed me off and moved on to the next patient. I know he isn't the one who did the veneers but he's responsible for previous patients right? So if I'm having issues you'd think he would be more than happy to take care of them. Especially an issue like this. Oh and to top it off they charged me $30 for a fluoride treatment I didn't even ask for. Anyway I knew the smell wasn't normal so I did my research and made 2 appointments (1 at an oral surgeon and another at a cosmetic dentists) for 2nd opinions. Surprise surprise they both told me the exact same thing. The margins are off all around the veneers which means there are gaps between the veneers and my gums which is causing bacteria to get in there. And before I could even say anything the cosmetic dentist commented on the gray color. I also had to make an appointment with a periodontist because the cosmetic dentist was also worried about my gums being so irritated. I went in a few weeks ago and luckily there are no gum issues. This has been such a mess. I'm so tired of having my mouth poked and messed with. I've also been on the phone with insurance trying to dispute the claim with Smiles on Southern. I even called Smiles trying to get a number for their corporate office and no one called me back. It wasn't until I called numerous times and left multiple voicemails that I got a call back. They left one nice little voicemail after I called threatening to sue but by that time I was fuming and didn't even want to deal with them. Bottom line I don't recommend them. I'm super disappointed with this dentist office. DO NOT get cosmetic work done here. Go to someone who specializes in veneers. Don't learn the hard way like I did.
