I am not a regular shopper at No Frills. I decided to change it up last week and visited this store located on the northeast corner of Markham Road and Steeles Avenue East.
This store has been around for over a decade. I recall going here often when it first opened in the mid 2000's, which seems like an eternity ago!
There is plenty of parking in this lot, which I like. I parked and walked in.
I needed celery. I found it within a minute. It's always a good sign when I can find what I need without running laps around a large supermarket. The celery seemed small, but it could have simply had been the luck of the celery crop.
I also decided to get a bag of avocados. I got six of them for $3.88. That's not bad, considering that it's not exactly avocado season. I don't eat enough of them and I recently discovered that they make my smoothies much creamier when I throw an avocado in. Yeah, I'm late to this party. That's not breaking news at all.
My problem with this place is that there aren't enough available cashiers to serve the volume of customers. There was one express lane. I was the twentieth customer in line there. I only had two items in my hands. My wait was at least ten minutes.
The cashier was friendly given how many customers she had to deal with. I paid. I grabbed my groceries. I headed to my car.
I visited this store last Friday, in the early afternoon. If it's this busy then, I don't want to shop here on the weekend.
