Shady sales practices. I signed up for one on one time with a personal trainer for 3 months. I was told the cost would be $280/month ($35 for 8 sessions). They had me pay 280 upfront for the first month and then charger me 280 for the next 3 months. When I questioned them about why I was charged an additional 280 they told me that my first payment was a down payment. During my whole conversation with the PT sales representative nothing was mentioned about a down payment. On the contract, they have the initial payment listed as a down payment with 3 affitional payments of 280. Unfortunately, you dont see your contract until after you sign it and they email it to you. So, basically, you are signing the agreement based on the information they give you. I highly recommend having them print out the contract before signing it and double checking their figures. I've spoken to several trainers and have been told that I'm not the only client that has had this same experience and that it sucks for them because they have lost several clients because of the PT sales practices. One of the trainers even called the sales people shady and that several trainers have left because of their sales practice. This alone speaks volumes about this place. If the employees can't even trust management why should consumers. I've been a member of Fitness Works/Fitness Evolution since 2006. This experience was the final straw for me. I am giving my notice to cancel my membership with this gym. I can only imagine the run around I'll get to do that.
