Where can I begin? Katie Gottleib and Govberg Jewelers have blown me away. I have never had a "relationship" with a jeweler. When my stone fell out of my wedding ring, I did not know where to go. A friend of mine who knows jewelry told me there was only one place to go and that was Govberg. I trusted her, as she is far more discerning than I am. I walked in and Katie Gottleib greeted me. There was no pressure just genuine concern for what I needed. I expressed that I was worried that even after re-setting my stone that it would fall out again. So, she suggested that their gemologist and craftsman, Steve (?memory not good;), take a look at the ring and suggest a more secure setting via sketch along with an estimate. The sketch was amazing but I worried about the cost. Re-setting the stone would be $180 and the gorgeous pillowed/halo reconfiguration with additional diamonds...surely that would be over a thousand. To my surprise, the cost was $530 and the re-setting was transformational...I saw a ring like it last year at Barney's in Chicago for $20K! Add to all this that I had no idea there was such thing as "rhodium-plating" white gold to bring back its brightness after years of yellowing. I wish I could post before and after pictures! It is incredible. I had to bring in my other wedding band for rhodium-plating immediately. $28 later, I have a ring that is beyond stunning. I say all this despite the fact that I am not a "jewelry" gal. I also don't bother with manicures, but after these rings had been to Govberg, I needed to go immediately to the nail salon and do them the justice they deserved;) I can't thank Katie and Govberg enough. I never understood ladies who had a "relationship" with a jeweler the way people have a hair stylist or a therapist. Well I know now!! Head over heels in love with Katie Gottleib!! She's a keeper. ;)
