  • I ended up here again. I figured the third time is a charm. It wasn't. Let me start with what works. I admit the ice cream is tasty with a nice variety of choices; I had the Sea Salt Caramel with Organic milk, sweet but needs a little more saltiness to it. That's working and probably the only thing I can really give positive feedback for. This visit had a few things that justifies that this franchise is just a gimmick. First, and not really something the shop had to do with, there was a garbage smell right at the entrance. Just laying it out there. Next we again saw a difference in the amount of ice cream served like in my last visit. Both single servings but one clearly lacked that beautiful mound the images display on the menus. However after confronting the manager about it, he explained that anything that has toppings, like cereal, they just pour freely instead of a set amount. So you get the same amount of base, we were told about 7oz, but the toppings make it look fuller. To me that's a red flag rip off. If two people order a cereal topping, one might get more than the other? Hell no! What was funny is the manager kept justifying the sizing correlates to the topping every time he brought a new ice cream to the pick up counter which shows they're trying to make you think it's reasonable. Where I call BS on this logic has to do with my previous visit. My sister last time ordered cookies 'n' cream yet it came out flat and not full like in the picture. This visit also justified that they aren't properly measuring the amount of base for your ice cream. I watched the employee making the ice cream base and noticed she was using a measuring cup but not really measuring properly, instead just "feeling" the amount. On top of "feeling" out 7oz, the employee wasn't even pouring all of the mix, meaning you lose about an ounce of cream. It seems this is done for the sake of speed and efficiency. I admire that they are trying to be efficient to sell their tasty yet gimmicky treat to justify their quality ingredients for the expensive price, but it's just smoke, in this case nitrogen, and mirrors. I know not everyone will be pleased with Creamistry, and I'm one of them, but it seems they can't get a grip on an efficient workflow. Either hire more staff or find a way to simplify the process because eventually competition will come next door with a solution to these issues and suck the customers right up.
