| - After our last experience (with a different company) getting unloaded from our cross country move from DE into our temp rental, we were hoping to find a better company to move us into our new home after it was built. Last crew were not friendly and slightly combative when we asked to move misplaced items around.
Not these guys however. Everything went really well with these guys. Marco, Jaime, Allen, Mark, Johnathan and Noel worked very hard and quickly to get everything packed up into the truck and the same unloading. They were very friendly and respectful of us, our home and possessions. They labeling the major pieces of furniture so they could get into the proper rooms at our destination. They were very patient with the unloading process and getting things into the proper rooms and even helped us out with final positioning of the larger furniture, so we wouldn't have to move things around too much afterwords.
I don't think we had any real breakage, aside from a porcelain side table, which the leg broke off. Turns out the leg had been glued on before, but Marco still gave us a credit for the damage and also glued it back together. A few minor nicks and dings on the walls, but having moved plenty before some are to be expected.
Reasons for the 4 instead of 5 stars. (I still highly recommend them).
The crew had the start time at 9 AM instead of 8 AM. This kind of messed us up, as we hoped to get most of the house situated by 3 or 4 PM before we had to pick the kids up from day care. We wound up picking them up about an hour late to get their rooms in order, so not a biggie.
Also, their rate of 335 per hour (6 guys) seemed a bit high, but with everything going on with between the move and new home and other contractors, we didn't have much time to shop around and had chosen them based on a friends recommendation. I remember the initial estimate being something like 5 hours (and at the time I knew that was probably low), it turned out to be 6.75. So overall the cost was a bit more than the $2000 I was hoping for.
Add in there was a $210 trip fee, which I think Max mentioned covered the cost of going to and from the locations and between destination. This seems a little bogus to me. I can see paying for the trip between locations, but not coming to and from their office. We only moved 6.5 miles a total of 10 minutes, so this just seem like a little gravy on top for them and is really what made me put a 4 out of 5. Seems this should really be based on actual mileage and time and not some random figure.
In the end, the experience was good enough that I didn't really mind paying a bit more as the day was fairly stress free.
