| - What happened? This year was so disappointing!
We chose to go opening night and did the VIP tour. Total rip off! We did the VIP tour where others are also in your group. We might as well have done the fast pass and payed a lot less. Last year, we got the private VIP tour. That was great, despite being way more expensive, and I believe that that is why we got ahead of everyone for all the houses. That does not happen with the general VIP ticket where you are VIP but there are other people in your party as well. Literally, it is a rip off.
The tour guide was nice but not scary at all. He was dressed as a ghoul? Last year was wayyyyy better! So, 5 haunted houses and at the front of the line for all 4 until we get to last haunted house, Lights Out. The tour guide drops us off there and it is the end of the tour?!! This is the haunted house that everyone has been talking about. If they were smart, this is the first house we would have gone to!!!
Seriously, who is the seriously unintelligent person who put this together? When we got to lights out, where you have to go in on your own, we had a long line and we waited over 30 minutes and still did not get in! We paid for VIP to get in before everybody else!!! People in our line had fast passes that were not VIP. What in the world??? We ended up never going to lights out and we felt like we seriously got ripped off.
I have another beef with how terrible our experience was this year. The fog machine was on steroids! Who in the world forgot to manage it? There was so much thick fog that you could not even see 2 cm in front of you and there was no tactic to scare you in these areas so it was worthless. The only thing I walked away with was my asthma being worse. It was completely useless and just foolish.
Another thing I really didn't like is that one of the haunted houses, the clowns, was practically the same one as last year. Another one of the haunted houses featured similar characters as last year and the exact same animatronics. I did not pay a lot of money to see the same haunted houses again!
There are way too many options in Las Vegas for great haunted houses and Frightdome is 'Lamedome' to me at this point.
If you go, the most expensive ticket you should purchase is the fast pass unless you go exclusive VIP because there is something you really want to see. It is not likely that I'm returning next year because of how disappointed we were this year. Just terrible. We were not scared at all. Just a big yawn.
