We moved into our property in Aug of 2015. After approx 5 months of going back and forth over a few items that we (renters) felt either the property management (McKenna) or the owner should take care of AND writing a letter of intent to sue, we FINALLY got some action from McKenna. For 5 months, we had to pay for a water (shower) leak and a broken screen door which required us to run AC/heater more. We have a broken fan that is STILL (8 months into lease)) broken that McKenna won't fix. We live in the desert where temps get into triple digits regularly over the summer but they won't fix a broken fan. Again leading to more very expensive A/C costs.
The main reason for the two stars is the lack of communication I received (or didn't receive) from McKenna and the fact that every time I had an issue, or wanted something fixed or resolved, they ALWAYS came back with an excuse as to why they didn't need to fix it i.e. our broken fan and beyond.
We've also had some HOA (landscaping) issues that could've possibly been resolved had we been given fair notice and opportunity from McKenna to resolve said issues. But again, lack of communication from McKenna. The HOA took our property to a hearing w/o us ever being notified of violation. We ended having to pay a $90 landscaping fee w/o ever being given a fair chance to resolve issue.
It's too bad bc we do like our unit/property. But when it comes time to have to move, if we are still renters at that time, we definitely WONT go with a McKenna property!
