I've been a goodlife member for a while. I switched over from the UofT gym thanks to price and convenience. I tried to bring my bf in to try it out and maybe sign up as a member. He went in to get a three day pass and see how it is.. If he would actually use it, etc. A guy greeted him and did the initial interview. Half way through he started just signing my bf up before he could even check out the facilities. When we stopped him, he tried multiple pressure tactics, tried to force and sell the idea of weights and strength training, and basically said no other work out meant anything. We told him repeatedly that our main form of exercise is actually sports (soccer, squash). Not everyone wants to be a muscle head. Some people just exercise for the health benefits. If this isn't the perspective that your gym has, then perhaps you should rethink what it means to be a gym facility before turning girls into anorexics and guys into steroid users. He proceeded to try to intimidate my bf into signing up, saying things like "so you aren't serious about getting into shape?".. "So you're not serious about any of this." Um WHAT?!? Either of us could have probably outrun this kid in a zombie apocalypse. He was a total bully. I was embarrassed for goodlife and for having recommended this place to anyone. In the we didn't even get the three day pass because he wouldn't give it to us. It is disgusting that this is how you treat prospective customers... And false advertising about your passes to be frank. Once my membership is up, I will not be signing up again. I'd rather pay more and walk a little further to the gym than deal with your employees. It's a shame. Also saying "effing stuff" is just as unprofessional as swearing.
