I had some extra time on my lunch break so I thought I'd whip into BlackHawk to grab some screws for knobs on a dresser I wanted to repaint. In the 15 minutes I was in there I was asked if I need help 5-7 times. The first time was nice the second ok, beyond that it was harassing. I even had one guy follow me around the store.
I found the screws I needed and was counting them out when a guy came over and told I couldn't handle them, he'd get them. I was so surprised, as putting them back I dropped one and muttered "darn-it". He corrected me with "dang-it". I'm 47 years old, if I want to mutter "darn-it" under my breath I think I can. He then went to the back of the isle to get them. I was confused since they were right in front of us, but he said he wanted to use the other bin. When I was watching him count them out, I told him they looked shorter and the price was different. He said he knew his inventory. I got them home and sure enough they were way too short. I went to Lowes and got what I needed without the hassle.
While at Blackhawk I saw some chalk paint. I was going to grab what I usually use, Vangogh or Annie Sloan elsewhere, but they had CeCe so I thought I'd try it and it would save me a trip for the other. When I opened the can the paint was dried, hard and crusty at the top and like pudding under the crust at the top. I looked up on the website to see if that brand had a different consistency or if it was just old. It was old. I added water and made due, but the paint will not cure so I'll have to get the other brands and fix it.
I will never set foot in that store again. The staff is harassing and the place is overpriced.
