The good:
The service was quick and friendly and I came here for the last 3 years for oil changes. They once vacuumed out my car for free. Another time they happily installed some wipers I'd bought somewhere else. Free paper and coffee were always welcome.
The annoying:
The frequent up-sell started getting to me. What if I ignored one of these problems and caused serious damage to my car?! So I paid for a few extras each time (cleaning, belts, etc). But last summer they told me my coolant was acidic and needed flushing. I'd just had it flushed at the dealership during a warranty inspection, so I went back there for a second opinion. Dealership tested coolant and said pH was fine. This winter Mr Lube's volt meter said my battery was less than 50%. I told them it was -25C all week and car started fine. Took the car again to dealership and their test showed battery was great. Was Mr Lube dishonest or just mistaken about these "problems"?
The downright shabby:
This winter they removed my cabin air filter and I could see it was very dirty, so I said OK to the up-sell. A bunch of leaves and debris fell out when they removed it, but they swept it off and all was good. What I didn't realize is that there was still a ton of leaves and grit in the ducts leading to the air filter. I put up with the whistling and rattling from the vent system for two months before paying an independent garage to clean it out the way it should've been when the filter was changed.
They were always so nice there that I almost feel guilty saying this, but I am done with this Mr Lube location.
