  • I've been coming here regularly for 6-8 months and took the monthly bundle as a trial to see if my skin would improve from their facials. My first appointment was for a microdermabrasion because I was stressing out, breaking out and needed some deep repair and relaxation for my skin. I booked an appointment for the microdermabrasion and came in and they did a facial on me. After inspecting my skin, they said they would need to wait a bit before doing the microdermabrasion because it was too dry. I had the facial done, booked another appointment for the microdermabrasion and then came back. Following up on the second appointment, they told me I needed to go more than once to see actual results. I wanted to see what kind of results I would get from having regular facials so I took the opportunity to sign up for their monthly subscription. I found out the thing about their services is similar to most facials I've read up on, very beneficial in the first few days and then you would need to maintain it with regular products from home. I'm fine with the upkeep but.... The reason why I gave this 3 stars is because I'm rather upset with their business development side. Every time I come in they would do an upsell, cross sell or push a product on me. I understand sales pressure from working in marketing but I find their staff and sales tactics overbearing to the point it questions the authenticity of character. I'm also disappointed with their lack of communication with the points system. I cancelled a month prior to today and after announcing I had 2000 points to redeem for a 20$ voucher, to come in a month later, they told me I had to claim it on the 9th (today is the 12th) and that I couldn't claim it anymore! Could've told me before I booked my appointment no? They use all dermalogica products and I don't mind the products but agin, too much of a pressure to buy them. Tip: go to a dermatologist instead. all in all, I love the facialist Maxine but I personally find their sales pressure too aggressive and discomforting. The ambiance is nice and the location convenient but expect to be paying more than you came in for.
