| - TL;DR - once they have your money, they stop caring about you completely
I went in to look at a 1991 Acura NSX. While I was there they talked a lot about 'respect' and other things but really they just wanted me to pad their bottom line.
The price eventually became reasonable for the car they wanted to offer and I bought the car, but they would not budge on the trade in value. Keep in mind, that they took my trade in off my hands for about 26k, did literally no work on it, and put it back on the sales lot at 35k. This is a 2011 Subaru STI in very good condition. Obviously they had wiggle room to go further and decided I was a rube and not worth working with. The nice sweater they gave me in return should hold me over real well!
Then comes the car. As a 91, I expect things to go wrong with it. However, less than a week after I owned it the A/C blower cut out. I took it in and they told me that they would not help me at all with it because "they had already spent so much on the car that they were not willing to help further." Ok, well, way to stand behind your product. I would have even met them halfway, bought the part if they had offered the labor. Nothing.
I took it to Acura of Tempe and not only did were they way more courteous, offered a loaner vehicle before I could ask, and had much more responsive staff, but their service department also found that the blower motor was fine - it was the relays that were out, which saved me nearly 300 bucks in repair costs. Tempe 1, Peoria 0.
As a final negligent act, I purchased SkyLink from Acura of Peoria, and they said someone would be contacting me after purchase to get it installed into the car. I waited for two weeks, even took the car in for the a/c problem, and nobody mentioned it. I had to call and make a separate appointment to come in and deal with them. Awesome follow through, guys!
My loaner car was a 2014 TSX, and it was so nice I'm thinking of getting one. It'll be most likely from Acura of Tempe - NOT from Peoria.
