I never saw the dentist so in fairness to them I don't know how if the doctor is a good dentist or not. I do not like to leave negative feedback, but in this case I think it's important for future patients to know so that they do not have the same challenges I had.
I was given a list of providers that are covered under my insurance, and Dr. Miller was listed as a provider. I saw that he had pretty good feedback on yelp and google so I thought it would be a good idea to schedule an appointment with him. I called and setup the appointment and gave the lady my insurance information and confirmed that they accept my insurance. I specifically scheduled this time because my children were out of school and in camp for the week.
They emailed me paperwork to fill out in advance to save them time, which I spent 20 or so minutes filling out. Two hours before my appointment a girl called and said that they don't take my insurance, only PPO, but that I could come in and pay out-of-pocket. I was fuming since I had missed work and pulled my children from camp that I was paying for to make this appointment. I called my insurance company to find out why they had listed him as a doctor that accepts my insurance, and they said "because he does." They said that he has a contract to accept my insurance and that if they were confused they needed to contact my provider. I called back the dentist against my better judgement and still got no answers.
I'm sure Dr. Miller is a good dentist, but I'm not sure if his staff has an understanding of what other peoples time is worth. Hopefully, this review will help future patients triple check that the office knows that their insurance is accepted so that they don't get a call a few hours before their appointment. I really hope Dr. Miller can address these issues. If for any reason it turns out that my insurance company made a mistake I will gladly take this review down.
