  • Really, yelp needs to allow for 1/2 stars, because Scarpetta is definitely a solid 5 stars, but Hubby wanted to knock off a 1/2 star for overly spicy Lobster Pici. Easily one of the best meals we've had in Vegas. Came here with another couple, and we each ordered a different dish. Had polenta w/ truffled mushrooms, and salad w/ burrata and roasted beets to start. We wanted to lick the polenta bowl when we finished, it was that good. The beets were tasty, too, but the Polenta.... Molto Bene!! Lobster Pici -- fantastic, but the chili pesto was a bit overpowering (Hubby burst into a sweat within the first bite). Short Rib & Bone Marrow agnolotti -- Rich, luscious, and not exactly heart healthy, but oh my god good. Raviolini w/ ricotta and truffle -- not on the online menu. Super tasty, and you'll want to have extra bread on your table to sop up every last drop of the sauce (hence the name, Scarpetta!). Veal tortellini -- one of the special dishes offered that night, easily the best pasta we had. With shaved baby carrots on top, each bite was perfectly savory w/ a touch of sweetness. For dessert, we ordered the Amedei chocolate cake and pumpkin soufflé. About 15 minutes later, our waiter ("hot as hell" Luis) appeared sheepishly at our table to apologize profusely that the soufflé were not meeting the expectations of the kitchen so they were in the process of starting a new batch. Which would take an hour. :( While our friends were disappointed, we did give serious props to the kitchen for not serving sub-par food. So we ordered the Bomboloni instead. Which were "the bomb!" One of the best parts of the meal, though, was the little surprise Luis presented us with at the end of our meal... to again apologize for the soufflé flop, he went next door to D.O.C.G. and got us a dish of the salted caramel budino. Seriously, that was a little bit of heaven in a bowl (another 'wanna lick the bowl' moment). Luis and the rest of the staff were fantastic, and we felt like they bent over backwards to make sure we had a fantastic experience. Oh yeah... and we had a great view of the Bellagio fountains while we ate. We waddled out of there fat 'n' happy, and found the pricing to be quite reasonable. Especially for Vegas. We will be back to Scarpetta, without a doubt.
