  • Please, for the safety and life of your pet, I beg you not to even consider this kennel. To start, I'll refer to this public document that I discovered after our experience showing that this kennel was fined by the Department of Agriculture for numerous unlawful violations after an incident where a dog was killed due to similar neglect that we ourselves experienced: http://www.ncagr.gov/vet/aws/documents/AllWagsCivilPenalty10-12-15.pdf As for our experience, on March 12th, 2016 my 14 year old dog was severely injured at All Wags Doggie Daycare and Boarding requiring emergency surgery. Despite me requesting every time I've boarded that the dogs not share a kennel, the staff negligently fed our two dogs in the same kennel resulting in one biting the other. When we dropped them off before leaving, the staff member checking us in even asked if they could share a kennel and both my husband and I emphatically said no. She never once asked us to put it in the "special comments" section where the owner has now said that information is supposed to go, nor did the employee write it there herself. Prior to that, our other dog came back after a solo stay during Thanksgiving 2015 with a puncture wound to her ear. At the time, I chalked it up to puppy rough housing. Now I highly doubt that was the case as I've found the report from the Department of Agriculture Animal Welfare Services, recent and similar reviews on Yelp, and a complaint with the Better Business Bureau where another dog was hurt in a separate incident a few years ago. From reading other reviews and the findings from the NC Department of Agriculture, it's clear there is a pattern of negligence on the part of this company resulting in violent and deadly consequences. I won't even go into the half a dozen phone calls I made to this owner that went unreturned. She does not respect her employees or her customers. At the end of the day, how the owner runs her business is one thing but this really comes down to the safety and well-being of your animals. It makes me sick to my stomach that a dog owner had to come home to her dead dog because the owner under-staffs this facility in order to pocket more cash. I'm sick to think it could have been our dog and if you use this facility it's only a matter of time before it is yours. They have NOT corrected the issues they were fined for in August 2015 and our experience 7 months later is evidence of that. Please learn from our scary experience and look elsewhere for a boarding kennel. It goes to show what a big deal this is as All Wags is the only kennel in Mecklenburg County with a Civil Penalty like this - http://ncagr.gov/vet/aws/Inspections/Mecklenburg_County/index.htm As for our experience of how this owner handled such an incident, we were told by ER staff that All Wags agreed to pay the hospital bill for the most recent incident. I was told by multiple hospital staff members that there were even notes on the account that All Wags was responsible for it. It was only when it came time for her to pay the emergency vet bill that Meecy the owner went back on her word and only agreed to pay half. I assume this is because it was more than she expected. She breaks the law by understaffing her business, of course she's not going to do the right thing and shell out cash to pay for the hospital visit. This incident was the result of negligence on the part of her staff that appears to be a revolving door of unhappy and poorly trained employees who are left to manage an illegal ratio of dogs to people. We even had to pay for our stay when we picked them up! It's disgusting. This place is a dog owner's worst nightmare, stay far, far away. **UPDATE 9/27/16: the Department of Agriculture Animal Welfare Services launched an investigation after our complaint. This kennel was issued a Civil Penalty in June 2016 after the inspection resulting from that complaint showed that All Wags was in violation of multiple animal welfare laws. In August 2016, this kennel received another Civil Penalty for refusing to air condition the facility despite multiple warnings resulting in 94 degree indoor temperatures where the animals were being housed. This kennel has received 3 Civil Penalties just within the last 11 months and is currently being fined by the state for 15 violations of animal welfare laws. The public documents for these violations can be found on the NC Department of Agriculture's Animal Welfare Services website. Because of these government penalties, the BBB has revoked their accreditation.
