  • cinema du parc is situated on the bottom floor of a building that contains some stores. it's staffed by people that are laid back, courteous, and kind of smooth. i know, i know, but it's true. came here for the polanski retrospective, the nine shorts specifically. the first thing that we noticed when we walked in to the theater was how small the screen was. once the films started, the screen size wasn't an issue. seeing the great 'two men and a bureau' on a big(ger) screen was wonderful and i'm glad i had that experience. seeing "lamps" with all the doll heads and pieces and the babies crying in the background kind of weirded me out enough to want to leave. and i never leave (unless it's death to smoochy, then i just storm right out of there) minus a star because it seems like the only opportunity i will ever have to see 'cul de sac' happened almost a week after i left town.
