I have been a customer of Bulk for a few years and finally wondered what's in the Witch Hazel. The label states only witch hazel. That can't be so I called. I explained to the rep that witch hazel is a plant and requires a liquid either alcohol or water. She said the ingredients are proprietary. I have contacted the FDA to complain of improper labeling and think it is simple to list the ingredients correctly. There is wiggle room for proprietary ingredients but they have to let us know if there is water or alcohol. I've spent thousands with Bulk from my different companies and will never spend another dime. Shop elsewhere! They approve the reviews on their site that Is why the ratings are high there and low here.
UPDATE!!!
The company has now put a disclaimer up on the witch hazel product page as followed.
The information on Bulk Apothecary website is obtained from current and reliable sources but makes no representation as to its comprehensiveness or accuracy. Information found on this site should be used for research purposes only.
This is terrible. They acknowledge they are listing ingredients but you should do your own testing and not expect them to be a reliable source as to what is in what they have for sale. In defense of Bulk, they obviously are the middle man and doesn't know what their wholesaler ships to them.
Also, they have now changed the description to Which Hazel Extract containing 14% alcohol. That should have been there from the start but thanks.
