  • My first venture to the diviest dive bar in south Phoenix was almost what I expected. By and large, not only do I love dive bars, but most often I prefer them to other joints. I do, however, have a problem with establishments who refuse to accommodate those of us who don't walk around with cash. I get it - you also own the ATM... but c'mon.... in the long run you'll get more repeat business because your place is divey AND accepts debit / credit than by being stubborn about it. The service was decent, the beers were exactly what you'd expect in regards to quality and price. There was live music, sadly country, but I was in the minority in regards to music preference in this joint. In regards to the clientele, excellent people watching and they were almost all incredibly friendly. If I had a wallet full of cash, I'd go back for the atmosphere but I kind of take a stand against business owners who think they're out-smarting us with their 'cash-only' policy.
