  • Definitely not feeling this place. I had an appointment last Saturday and like any punctual person would, I arrived about 5 minutes early. Then I waited, and waited, and waited some more. After nearly 45 minutes of waiting in the horribly outdated, dingy waiting room, I was finally called back for the preliminary tests which took all of 5 minutes and I was told to go back to the waiting room to wait some more. By this time I was already frustrated and I hadn't even seen the actual doctor yet. So after waiting a little while longer I finally get my eyes tested and prescription updated. At this point I was ready to get out of there so I hurried and picked my two pairs of glasses and waited (picking up on the trend, yet?) to be called to check out and pay. I finally get called and somehow the $69 advertised price - you know, $69 two complete pairs plus a free eye exam - turns into $270! Talk about sticker shock! I was able to get the price down to just over $200 after opting out of some glare shield or something on the lenses and begrudgingly paid almost 3 times the advertised price. Had I not needed new glasses so badly I would have gladly paid for the exam and went somewhere else. I'm still not exactly sure why the price jumped SO much but like I said, I needed the product and I had just spent over an hour and a half and was ready to get out of there at any cost (no pun intended). Next time I'm in the market, I'll definitely research a few options before considering going back to America's Best.
