  • Best pie store ever. The store sits ina little just off Bloor Street, it catches my attention and curiosity everytime I walked by it, with a dog house at the side of the store and a stuffed reindeer right infront of it. Decor is chic vintage and simplistic. A small little store but felt very spacious and cozy, like what an apartment would look like in Vieux MontrĂ©al. There's frames of photos and mirror on the wall. Against that wall lies a refurbished replica Victorian era couch. There are two small chandeliers hangings from the ceiling. Perfect atmosphere for a lazy Sunday afternoon tea/ coffee catch up with friends. The owner is super nice and friendly. He chatted with every customer who walked through door about everything, from current affairs to life to pies. He's like that old friend of yours who always welcome you when you're at his home despite not seeing you for the longest time. The menu is really simple. What they have is what you see in the display. All the pies are made with real butter, not shortening or lard, so it's vegetarian friendly. They also have a selection of savory pies. I ordered a slice of bumbleberry pie, which is mixture of blueberry, blackberry and peach. The piecrust is the flaky kind, which I absolutely love. Not that I have anything against those shortbread kind of crumbly crust, I simply thinks that it takes a lot more skills to prefect a good flaky crust. The store is kinda quiet because people usually just comes in to buy a whole pie, which I'm not surprised since who wouldn't want to share these awesome pies with their friends and family. A slice of pie cost $6.50, $2.50 additional with a scoop of good old vanilla flavored icecream. All prices are tax inclusive. Don't you just love it when you pay for the exact price written on the menu, instead of fishing out extra change to pay for the taxes? This is such a good find, I think I'll be coming here very often with friends. Who say there's nothing going on in the west end?
