  • WHO WANTS TO GET LUCKY TONIGHT?!?!? VA VA VOOM...Sexy, Sultry and Sensual; Strip House Steak House are ALL of those things and more. If the food doesn't give you a FoodGASM, the ambiance will set the tone for something else later in the night. *wink wink* On Saturday, 2/19/11, our party of 9 arrived 6:48 PM for our 6:30 PM reservations. We were promptly seated in our own private room. F O O D: *COMPLIMENTARY BREAD BASKET: -Pretzel bread: warm, soft, chewy and salty -Raisin bread crusted w/ sesame & poppy seeds: my fav; crusty on the outside and pillowy soft in the inside. A slather of the butter added a creamy rich decadence while the raisins a touch of sweetness and the seeds a savory nuttiness. -Sourdough bread: I didn't try it. *COLORADO LAMB RACK w/ Dijon Breadcrumbs & White Bean Stew ($43): AMAZING!!! The two thick lamb chops were crusted w/ a Dijon bread crumb mixture and perfectly seared, then finished off in the oven to cook to a medium rare. As I took the first bite, I got a nice crunch from the seared crust and then the soft tenderness from the lamb. The lamb was not overly seasoned and a small ring of fat was left which helped "dress" the lamb in its natural juices producing a piece of meat that was juicy and full of natural lamb flavor w/ a hint of gaminess. The Dijon brightened the lamb by giving it a punch of tang on the palette. The white bean stew was the perfect accompaniment b/c of its neutrality which let the lamb shine in this dish. The al-dente beans were stewed in a rich and savory gravy which had a slight smokiness from the bits of bacon. I mopped each bite of lamb w/ the gravy and it was like a FoodGASM in my mouth! *BLACK TRUFFLE CREAMED SPINACH w/ Bacon ($13): OMFG! *Eyes Roll Back* I was too consumed w/ scarfing down my lamb to even notice the sides until I started hearing a bunch of "Ohhhhhs" and "MmMmms". My friend said, "OMG, YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS!" and gave me a spoonful. I took a bite and HOLY SH*T it was BOMB!!! The creamed spinach was insanely rich and velvety. It was well-seasoned and savory w/ a subtle woodiness from the black truffles that wasn't overpowering. And, the best part? THE BACON!!! The crisp bacon bits added yet another layer of richness w/ a hint of smokiness. A DEFINITE MUST ORDER!!! *MAC 'N CHEESE ($13): SINFULLY DELICIOUS! The elbow noodles were smothered and intertwined w/ a thick and creamy oooeeegy gooeeey béchamel cheese sauce. As I scooped the mac 'n cheese from the bowl, the sauce was so thick and gooey that you can see the cheese stretch and pull from the bowl to the spoon. *drools* The noodles were perfectly cooked to an al-dente and béchamel cheese sauce was packed w/ bold flavors. You can taste the sharpness from the cheddar, nuttiness and creaminess from the gruyere, and you get a nice crisp texture contrast from the breadcrumbs. The ratio of butter, milk and cheese created one MOST mouth-watering Mac 'N Cheeses I've ever had! Every bite, I felt like I was committing a sin; well a Lo-Carb Dieter's Sin to be exact. S E R V I C E: IMPECCABLE and ACCOMODATING! My friend informed SHSH that we were running late due to traffic on the Strip and also told them we were in a huge time crunch and would have to be done w/ dinner at 8 PM. They said, it would be very tight especially w/ such a big group but would try to get us out of SHSH by that time. Our waiter and the other staff were very professional, friendly and attentive. They knew we were in a rush, so our waiter promptly took our order and everyone's apps, entrees and sides were out w/in 25 minutes! Keep in mind some of us had red meat which takes some time to cook and rest, so kudos to the kitchen staff! We threw SHSH's staff a curve ball and they definitely went above and beyond the call of duty! They got a party of 9 fed top-notch fare and out of there w/in an hour!!! At fine dining establishments, I normally spend 1.5-3 hours for a party of 2-4, so this is definitely unheard of for me. A M B I A N C E / D É C O R: SightGASM for the eyes, SHSH is one of the MOST sexiest, yet classiest restaurants that I've ever been to! Reminiscent of the SULTRY 1940s w/ dim lighting, scarlet red walls w/ gold decal, mahogany furnishings topped w/ crisp white linens, vintage black and white burlesque photos and LCDs w/ shadow box images of a woman's curves, SHSH will set the tone for one of the MOST sensual and romantic dinners you'll ever have! FELLAS...*ahem ahem*. If you're looking to tantalize every one of your senses, look no further, SHSH will satisfy ALL of them! The aroma and taste of the delectable food will please every taste bud and the ambiance will excite your eyes. As far as the other two senses: hearing and touch? Like I said, SHSH will set a tone for what will unfold the rest of the night, if not, I'm sure the alcohol will... ;)
