  • Wow, wow, wow! This place was SO good. I've known Hofbrauhaus for their beer but not for the food. Also, I'd never had German food before this. Although I'm sure authentic German food is best eaten in the homeland, this was a great preface to it! The atmosphere of the restaurant was great. At the Pittsburgh location, be sure to sit outside when the weather permits it. There's nothing like a nice breeze and view of the river. If you sit inside, you'll be sitting family style. When I was there, there was a piano playing on the stage where we witnessed the entire restaurant burst into singing "Sweet Caroline." The schnitzel was moist and full of flavor. I don't really like cabbage, but the side was really delicious and flavorful! Get the pretzel and bier cheese for an appetizer! You won't regret it. There's street parking throughout the shopping area, as well as a parking garage. However, if you're planning on indulging a bit, Lyft/Uber is a must. Fan of good German bier? Drop by!
