| - I'd like to give this 2.5 stars, but I'm rounding up because today is a good day. :)
The service was a bit off. We had to wave down our server every time we needed something, even though she was always standing nearby. However, the food came quickly (including chips and salsa) and my water glass was refilled often.
The food itself was...ok? Good-ish? Odd? But probably mainly because of what I ordered. First, the chips were thin and crispy and they bring you two types of salsa. I enjoyed the pico/chunky one a lot. The only thing that annoyed me is that the salsa comes in small carafes and you pour them onto a small plate. I personally think chasing salsa around a plate is stupid and would much prefer a bowl.
I was trying to be reasonably healthy and ordered the Pollo Asado, which states it's a grilled chicken breast marinated in a mustard sauce. It's definitely marinated in a mustard sauce! It was good, just kind of weird in general and especially for a mexican restaurant. The refried beans and rice were absolutely outstanding though, and the tortillas are homemade. The meal also comes with a house salad that was drenched in ranch, but otherwise fresh and a side of "pico de gallo" which was warm and had green chili in it (didn't like that).
I also had their house margarita which had the signature bright yellow green color of a cheap mix, but was decently strong and on sale for happy hour.
All in all, not a bad experience, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again.
