I'm a fan.. No its not the best course in Calgary by a long shot but it is very good value. I played Golf their Thursday and Saturday this week and had a great experience with all the staff from the time I checked in until the time I left. They all were polite, courteous and efficient even though several staff I met were new for the season. I liked that the marshal kept the pace of play going.
Silverwing is one of the first courses in Calgary to open on permanent greens this season. The course is designed as a links style golf course and is easy to walk and has push or drive carts available.
Green fees at are very fair given the location and the soil conditions.
Ya.. its right next to the airport but its a perfect use of land that would be difficult to live close to. You don't have to worry about hitting houses and you have several locations with great views. The wind is a challenge at this course but that can be fun for an added dimension to the game. The course is built on soil that would be very difficult to farm because of the poor alkaline soils. There are some rough patches on the course but its overall great early season condition and greens are a credit to the maintenance staff.
A fun course and a great walk I enjoyed it.
