  • I arrived at this hotel a few hours ago, so this review is liable to be updated as I spend more time here. The hotel was easy to find and had plenty of parking. The lobby looked nice enough, not the way I would have decorated but tasteful and clean. Mostly the lobby smelled like chlorine, which was fine. Things started going south when I noticed a sign that said that guests aren't permitted to have visitors, which definitely rubbed me the wrong way. I've never been to a hotel that prohibits visitors before. I drove here from Cincinnati to spend time with my friends and if I want to spend that time eating pizza and playing cards in my hotel room, I will. Things got worse when I got into the elevator. It smelled like a twenty year old ash tray. So did the hallway. Opening the door to my room felt like opening the door to an oven. As of four hours with the a/c set to 69 degrees, it's still uncomfortably warm in here. It's pretty obvious that no one has been in this room for a while, staff or guests. But at least it doesn't smell like an ashtray in here. The room itself is pretty spacious and the bed is comfortable enough. The furnishings are a little outdated, but not hideous. I looked for signs of bed bugs and luckily didn't see any (though I did find a busted outlet and tons of drywall dust). There isn't an outlet on my side of the bed, but there's a nightstand there. The Wi-Fi is pretty terrible. Three unsecured networks and none of them work. Fortunately the TV works and the microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee maker all seem to work as well. I did find a piece of broken glass on the floor of my room, which seems dangerous and also lets me know that they don't vacuum these rooms very well (in case the drywall dust under the bed wasn't a big enough indicator). The walls aren't paper thin, but I can still hear people in the hallway and parking lot pretty easily. The bathroom isn't dirty per se, but clearly no one has gone in there to clean for a while. There were a few ants and a small wolf spider in there, but those don't bother me. I'd gladly take spiders over roaches and bed bugs any day. The toilet and sink at least are clean and functioning. Here's to hoping that the shower works all right and breakfast is good. As it stands I don't think I would come back knowing that for $10 more I could stay in a cleaner hotel. Update: the shower worked fine and had plenty of hot water. The continental breakfast was all right. Still wouldn't stay here again though.
