They had rare and interesting reptiles. They seemed to have a diverse amount of supplies but I didn't feel comfortable sifting through to see what I could find because of two things I saw.
I started of by looking at the tarantulas. I peered into a cage and noticed that there was a tarantula leg hanging on the OUTSIDE in the backside of the cage. Gave me the creeps and I couldn't help but wonder how the leg got outside. Where was the tarantula now?! I moved along and tried to put it in the back of my mind. Then I went to look at some of their sand. I reached to grab it and as I was pulling it out, I noticed something on the top of the bag. A dead little lizard about 4 inches long slipped off and fell on the ground. I was done looking or touching. I decided to work my way to the furry animals.
I went ahead and looked at some of the hamster chew sticks and out of habit I checked the expiration date. All the sticks had already passed the expiration date. It really was a shame because I wanted to buy some. Then I went to grab some other item and I ended up dropping it on the ground because there was a dead spider on it. Nothing rare, just a house spider.
Overall, the animals are cool to look at. I have seen other pet shops maintain cages better. These cages weren't THE best but I've also seen worse, specifically the furry animal habitats. For this, I'd give them a 7 out of 10.
I would've preferred that the store be kept up with a bit more. There were a lot of cobwebs on merchandise and in random parts in the store. The dead animals did not make me feel comfortable checking out merchandise. I would've purchased more but I just didn't want to risk flipping something else and regretting it. I'd rate it a 2 out of 10. I've never gone to any other store and come across dead animals outside of the cages. Let alone so many cobwebs or expired food.
The staff seemed friendly so I didn't have a problem with that. The store and employees have the potential. The store just needs to be maintained much more.
