  • Dollar Rent a Car at the Phoenix airport is a bush-league operation with bully tactics and 0 customer service. We rented a small SUV and when we went to the airport to pick it up we were hit with hidden costs that were not explained anywhere in the contract or on-line. If there is more than 1 driver they charge $10 + tax + airport tax per person. This added an extra $70 to our bill. They also tried to bully us to pay for the gas tank up-front telling us that the gas station at DIA was over 15 miles away from the airport. I lived in CO and know exactly where and how far that Conoco is to the airport and it is right there! Mike proceeded to try to get us to upgrade to a Suburban for $300 more. We said we wanted the small SUV and he told us they had it on reserve for us. When we went to the garage to collect the car a girl told us all they had were mini-vans. The Suburban that Mike kept pusing us on were completely out. Thank God we didn't pay for one. We told her we had a reservation on the small SUV and Mike said it was there. She said no, only mini vans. As we walked to the mini van we noticed a small SUV close by. My husband asked about it saying that was the car we were suppose to get. She said, oh, okay you can have it. What the hell is going on at Dollar????? No one talks to anyone, everyone acts stupid about everything and all they do is keep padding the bill and bullying you into insurance, gas and upgrades. Dollar is no deal, it will only cost you many dollars!!! Worst company I have EVER dealt with.
