| - This place depresses me so, so much. After all the fancy renovations, B&Y has managed to somehow become worse than its 4 Frères predecessors. Despite all the fancy window dressings (premade sandwiches, on-the-go take out lunches, etc.), B&Y has been steadily phasing out very classic and important items that are absolutely essential to grocery stores. Every time I go, there are more and more items I have to look elsewhere for. Are you used to picking up toothpaste or toiletries at your everyday grocery store? Not anymore! B&Y's only toothpaste selection is TWO ROWS of Colgate's 4 Kids 2-in-1 Watermelon mouthwash toothpaste. They've gotten rid of pretty much all feminine hygiene products and other self-care products altogether. Yeah. I shop for toiletries at a dep now (did you know deps carry more toothpaste options than B&Y?). But also food items have somehow become scarce. Basic stuff like popcorn, yeast, fresh fruits and vegetables (berries are non-existent here most of the time now, and several pretty normal vegetables and fruits have also disappeared), dried foods, and dairy items have been disappearing from the shelves. Now at best you have a single, shitty option if any at all (Colgate Watermelon Mouthwash 4 Kids, anyone?). If you can tell, the two rows of Colgate Watermelon Mouthwash 4 Kids was the last straw after a string of occurrences where I would walk ten extra minutes to a /different/ grocery store to find what I'm looking for. I don't know who manages the food selection at this place, but they're doing a seriously awful job. Such potential - such a disappointment. Despite it being the most convenient place, I can't shop here for basic groceries anymore. Good luck, B&Y. Hope you find your footing soon.
*Edit* after I posted this review B&Y stocked some normal toothpaste and stocked up on some of the other items I mentioned. Not sure if it was a reply to my comment or just natural movement towards becoming a better store, but I'll up my point by 1 for the change.
