  • The appropriate star ranking for Family Vet care has no degree of certainty. I first saw Dr Wodiske with my cats. He was awesome. He displayed a great deal of care and professionalism. He definitely cares for your pets. I felt confident after meeting him. Shortly after, I brought in my two dogs. This time I had a different vet. I didn't really get the same warmness with her as I did the first time I was in. She recommended a dental. I ended up scheduling with the first doc that I really liked and with whom I felt more comfortable. The price was steep. There were many extractions that had to be done. With shots for both dogs and a dental, I paid around $1100, possibly up to $1200. I would have to check for sure. This seems to be high compared to other places. Ok, fine. I'll pay it. I wanted them done. This was my decision to pay this price and I didn't have anything else to compare it to at that point. Fast forward months later, I tried to schedule a nail trim for my dog. They said it would be 2 weeks! There were not any Vet Techs available. That was way too long for me to wait for something that is a quick in and out. I ended up calling their other location in Ahwatukee and getting in the same day. That location is pretty far for me to drive. I felt 2 weeks was unacceptable for an appointment. So here we are today. I called to Chandler hoping to see Dr. Wodiske and they said he was at the Gilbert location today. Ok, I'll call and see if I can get in there. I called Gilbert and they said he was not taking patients and was working as Medical Director today so he was unavailable. In fact, he would not be able to take any appointments for the rest of the week. Today is Wednesday. My dog is limping and not moving as he should be. This Chandler location did offer me an Emergency appointment, which is an additional $25. I was willing to pay that. However, I was stressed over my dog and not knowing which doctor I would be seeing didn't really work for me. The staff is really nice here, but there are so many unknowns when I try to make an appointment. I ended up going elsewhere and was able to get X-rays for my pup. I may be better suited for a smaller facility where I am able to establish a long term relationship with my Vet. After the last two interactions, my confidence is beginning to fade. Is this star rating appropriate for my experience? I'm not sure. I hope this review helps those who may need it.
