| - The drive from Winchester VA to this Red Roof Inn Plus+ establishment here near the Pittsburgh international airport was uneventful and definitely a welcome site after 3 hours on the road. The Red Roof Inn brand is one of my go to hotel brands - priced just right for budget minded travelers.
What does the Red Roof Inn Plus+ separate itself from the regular Red Roof Inn? I've been told during the check in process that you get additional bonus amenities with Red Roof Inn Plus+ versus not with regular Red Roof Inn. Hence, the Plus in the Red Roof Inn name along the building. I was glad to arrive here somewhat sane after driving 3 hours consecutively from Virginia. I arrived here for a Tuesday evening reservation on a recent September 2016 trip. I chose this particular hotel due to the hotel brand, price, and its proximity to the airport. While this Red Roof Inn does actually provide free airport transport from the hotel to the airport, I didn't need to use that amenity as I already had a rental car at my disposal. I only stayed here for one night at the Red Roof Inn Plus - Pittsburgh South, since I was departing the very next afternoon bound for Phoenix, AZ on united airlines via Houston, TX. Life is pretty good!
The overall experience here at the Red Roof Inn Plus+ - Pittsburgh South was as good as it can get. The location was great, as it was close to Pittsburgh international airport and about 3 miles to the nearest Primanti Brothers. It was only a one night stay, but Red Roof Inn normally doesn't steer me wrong anyway. While some Red Roof Inns offer just above basic comfort accommodations, there are other locations that go one step further, at least with how they present each hotel room unit to the paying customer. This Red Roof Inn Plus+ is located at 6404 Steubenville Pike in Pittsburgh, PA. They accept major credit cards, which is always a good thing and cash is king anywhere too. Red Roof Inn is always had been budget friendly to those needing a place to rest their head after a day of travel. Room rates start at $59/night and that's affordable to many. For me, I just needed a clean, safe, and comfortable room at a reasonable price, which Red Roof Inn gives me just that. I compared Red Roof's room rates directly online with Hotels.com and decided to book directly with them.
The service here is hospitable, friendly, quick, and honest. I received room 116 for the night and it was quite nice. The room itself was quite cozy and the bed was comfortable. There's a few restaurants nearby the Red Roof Inn, more notably the Central Cafe and Grill, which I eventually went to, since it got a very favorable rating on yelp. I must have gotten a good 7 hours of sleep here at the Red Roof Inn Plus, since I woke up refreshed and Inspired to enjoy more of my vacation, even though I was leaving Pittsburgh the next afternoon anyway. While the color scheme doesn't work well with the room, I enjoyed the basic comfort that comes with paying less. No bells and whistles here for me, while very nice, I would just enjoy the economical responsibility that comes with staying here and not be concerned too much with comfort. Safe and reliable at an affordable price is what I am after and Red Roof Inn Plus+ provides exactly that. I would recommend this Red Roof Inn property if you are staying in Pittsburgh or nearby the airport for a quick in and out for a reasonable cost, of course. While the wifi is kind of spotty, they don't have airport transportation here. Sorry to say. Free parking though!
4.0 stars for the comfort and reliability of Red Roof Inn. 4.5 stars for the pricing. And 4.0 stars for the service and location.
