  • I came out here to Nickoles a while back and had mixed feelings. Given, I'd say my overall experience was 4 star worthy. There were a few things that made the servicing of our 4Runner a real pain. I made sure to clarify the drop off time and pick up time as my wife (who drove the car) needed it for work and could only be without the car for a period of time. When I came to drop the car off at the after-hours time specified, I came to notice they had a locked gate for their business park. I felt uneasy about leaving the car in front of the gate, in the way of any traffic that would come through the entrance the next day. Let alone leave the car in an area that may or may not get broken into. I suppose had I known this I would've made a point to get there before they left for the day. When I called them early the following day, I was glad to hear they got the car in their shop without issue. They then mentioned they were finishing up another customer and would start on our car around noon. I reiterated the fact I needed this car done by the end of the day, and as it was a timing belt and water pump replacement I knew they had a significant amount of work ahead of them. Called again at 1p, they still hadn't started. Called again at 3p, they were just starting the work. I asked them if they were going to have the job done in a mere 2 hours, they assured me they would. Asked them to call me when finished. Never received the call so I just showed up around 6p. After talking for a bit with the technician, he told me they apparently had received defective parts from the manufacturer and they would need to re-order to complete the job. So, as expected, I was pretty aggravated at this point and addressed that had they started earlier it may not have been an issue to get the replacement parts locally within the day and finish up. Luckily, the manager was very understanding and was willing to make it right and get us a rental. Problem being that at this time of day everything nearby was closed and I had to drive all the way down to the airport to pick up (and drop off) this car. We got our car back the next day and the work has held up well. We received a discount on the service, which was generous. All in all, you can't really blame a shop for defective parts, and the customer service was top notch despite all issues, and that's what really matters. These guys are definitely recommended.
