| - I've shopped at Love bug a few times now. I discovered their shop in March of this year. I've spent maybe $1,000 there and while it's not a lot of money, it's also not nothing. But they don't seem to value repeat customers.
I went in to today to buy a winter wardrobe for my baby. I was thinking about ordering everything from Amazon and Nordstrom's but I do try to shop local whenever I can so I drove the 25 min to Love Bug. I got there a few minutes after 10 and there was a line of about 20 people to get in. I stand in line and the guy in front of me tells his wife they're only letting a few people in at a time. I'm the last person in line so I think, ok it probably won't be a long wait since it seems I'm last to whatever is going on in the store. It turns out there is a sale going on for 15% off.
A lady then walks up to the couple in front of me (they seems to be friends) and says they're giving out little gift bags to the first 30 people that shop and they could very well be part of the first 30. I thought, cool, and decided to wait a bit longer. It's in the mid 80's outside (but it feels like high 90s), the sky is bare, and the sun is shinning bright and hot. 25 minutes pass and the line has moved up by 3 people. At this point, however, 5 people waiting in line have decided the wait wasn't worth it and left. But I carved time out of my schedule and skipped my morning work out so I could get this shopping done because my baby really needs cold-weather clothes and shoes since we'll be spending the holidays in snowy Utah.
I waited 45 minutes in line and it only moved up by another 2 people by the time I decided to leave. I'm walking to my car and at this point I'm sweaty from waiting 45 minutes in the sun and starving because I skipped breakfast thinking I would quickly get my shopping done and be back home to have breakfast by the time my baby woke up.
I just ordered all my baby's kickeepants and toys from amazon and her shoes, coats, and accessories from Nordstrom's. By the way, don't feel bad about shopping from Amazon, you can also support small shops through them. I often get handwritten thank you notes from a lot of the baby shops I buy from on Amazon. I feel more valued as a customer through shopping with them online than I do shopping with Love Bug in person. Needless to say, this was the last time I'll shop at Love Bug.
