The club has a LOT of machines, they are typically in good working order and you rarely have to wait. That's the good part. The staff is all around unfriendly and could not care less. From the front desk to the trainers, it's very obvious they don't give a hoot about customers. The women's locker room is carpeted and smells strongly of mold (Of course it does ! people walking out of the showers and pool 24 hours a day onto carpeting .. Duh !). Could that be why all the other clubs in town have tile in their locker rooms ? The large exercise room that is used upstairs for all the classes is ALSO carpeted and I would not recommend you get your nose too close to IT (kind of hard to do when you're exercising so good luck). And finally, they do clean the machines fairly regularly and unfortunately, they choose to do this during busy times, so it's likely you will be inhaling chemical fumes from the very strong and smelly cleaning sprays they use. Same with vacuuming. Several times I started to cough while on the treadmill from the dusty vacuum exhaust, not a pleasant experience. Of course by the time I realized all of this, I was in a 12 month contract with no way out. Unfortunately, many of the clubs in Madison and elsewhere are focused more on signing people up than keeping people signed up.
