| - I called Deke's Refrigeration on Tuesday afternoon.
One of my heater blowers (there are two units on my house...) wasn't kicking on. It wasn't an emergency situation by any stretch of the imagination.
I'm all the way on the other side of town from where this company is located. The first question I asked was if they serviced my area. After advising me that the south end of Henderson was indeed in their territory Jenny asked if she could send someone over on Wednesday. I said sure.
Steve arrived at the scheduled time. After being attacked by my two dogs (not with teeth but with wags and licks...) he climbed up on the roof to access my flaky heater. He unscrewed the sheet metal covers, poked around the guts of the unit, jiggled some switches and wires and knew immediately what the issue was. He removed and showed me a clogged/dirty pilot igniter. I'm old and half blind and didn't feel like getting my glasses, so I took his word for it.
Observing the repair process while remaining updated as to the required fix, I was throwing some balls for Chester and Ziggy. For some reason they weren't very enthusiastic about chasing after them. I thought they'd be much more zealous in trying to show off for our guest, but their interest lasted no more than five minutes. Go figure.
Anyway, Steve took the igniter out to his truck, cleaned it, and stuck it back in where it belonged. He flashed me a thumbs up upon buttoning up the unit and climbed back down the ladder. He double checked the thermostats and made sure the heater was properly functioning before he left.
No replacement parts were needed. The bill totaled 85.00.
Deke's is a fully licensed and reputable family owned operation. Steve went to tech school and also learned the business from his father. He's married to Jenny. They are extremely pleasant to deal with, completely forthright and thoroughly honest.
Based on my experience, obviously I wouldn't hesitate recommending Deke's Refrigeration & Air Conditioning LLC to anyone who's having any manner of HVAC issues.
Sure, this is Vegas. A gambling town if there ever was one. But why would anyone risk using another outfit when calling Deke's is a sure bet?
