I first went into the gift shop, which I thought had many unique items such as North Carolina pottery, Chihuly books/postcards, baby items and Christmas decorations. Based on the great stuff in the gift shop, which usually reflects the type of art in the museum, I decided to go to the museum. I was excited by the Chihuly hanging outside. The museum, however, was a disappointment. I guess modern design isn't my style, and by craft, I thought it would be local craftsman and artists. It seemed to be a mishmash of styles that I just didn't enjoy.
