This place is affectionately referred to by locals as the cheese- grater.
Just take a look at the building to see why.
Stayed here for two nights last week and had some of the best nights sleep I've ever had at a hotel. And, sleeping in a strange bed is always difficult for me.
Friendly check-in crew, huge room and uniquely designed with a little "dressing area" with mirror directly outside your bathroom.
Great for a business stay-- we were just blocks away from our clients. It's also wicked close to Old Montreal.
One thing that I didn't enjoy so much was the WIFI situation in the room. I had barely any signal. At one point, I had moved my laptop to one of the far corners of the bed because finally my signal reached "excellent" status. But, later, when I returned from dinner, I tried to log on again in the same exact place and my signal was "Low." WTF?? And, it's not like they give you a LAN cable, just in case. :o(
This was room 516. Great room-- but bad WIFI. I ended up in the lobby which had supreme wireless service.
I don't necessarily think this reflects badly on the hotel, because I suspect this is just the lone area of the hotel with a poor signal.
The rest of my stay was great.
