I never write reviews but after visiting Tom's Barber Shop it definitely deserved one. I googled "best fade in Toronto" and Tom's shop was on the list. I live downtown so I was a little hesitant to travel all the way to the west end for a haircut but seeing that I've tried all the other barber shops that popped up on the results (ie. Crows Nest, Uptown, Hollow Ground, TownBarber etc...) I made the trip.
This is not an exaggeration... I got the best haircut I've ever had! No joke. I wanted a mid-drop skin fade with a disconnected top. Not only did Tom deliver but he talked me through the whole haircut to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. The skin fade was crisp and clean with no lines - just that perfect gradient. The top was cut to the exact length that it needed to be to have that textured slick back look (exactly what I wanted). Then he lined it all up with a straight razor and even styled it for me. Now, I usually hate when barber's do this because I just end up re-styling it at home but I could have literally gone out right from his shop. It was that good.
Trust me, try this guy out. I understand why he has so many loyal customers - because I'm now one of them. Even though I live in the downtown core it is more than worth the drive. Oh, and I paid $22 for "the best haircut I've ever had". Amazing.
