Wow! Tiki Hideaway completely blew me away. This is not your average cheesy bar with a couple paper flowers and grass skirts. This place is authentic - every detail of the decor and menu have obviously been thoughtfully considered and executed to perfection.
The bar and decorations are gorgeous and the whole place really feels like it could be right out of the '60s. The old movies and beach scenes really made you feel transported to a tropical hideaway.
And the food! Everything we tried was incredible, and something I don't think I could've gotten anywhere else - ginger noodles with lump crab and parmesan? Taro and plantain chips with creamed hearts of palm (who knew that could taste so good)? Short ribs? Every dish was delicious and I can't wait to go back and try even more.
The drinks are inventive and strong (without sacrificing taste), plus they come in delightful tropical mugs with real fresh flowers.
I only wish I lived in Charlotte so I could go here all the time. But I'm sure I'll be back!
