| - My friend and I had dinner here on Halloween night, 10/31/14. We arrived without reservations! Of course they are recommended, but we had chosen another venue and changed our minds at the last minute. The hostess was very nice and accommodating and asked us to wait in the bar for approximately 15 minutes while a table was being readied. That was great with us. At the bar we enjoyed a mixed drink each. Drinks here are about $15 pp. We were promptly seated near the windows and had a cozy table for two. The view onto the Strip and the Fountains of Bellagio are fantastic. Prime is definitely an upscale venue. We had one primary waiter and two others who assisted. The menu is a la carte and comprehensive. I selected the Squash Soup ($15) and it is poured into your bowl at the table. She selected the baby Iceberg Salad ($18). There is nothing baby about the salad; it's huge. You will be full after eating it. We shared and both were delicious. For the main course we ordered the 18 oz Ribeye ($64) - just one - and I asked the waiter to split it at the table. It was more than enough for two. We also had the roasted Asparagus ($14), the Mushrooms (($16) and Mac and Cheese ($12). That was too much and I told the waiter it probably was. All of it was delicious! The total, without tip, was $164, and that included one more mixed drink for me.
Actually, I thought the venue, service and experience overall was excellent, responsive and courteous. The prime Ribeye was good, but not the best I've had. I would rate it 3.5 stars, although it was cooked properly, by the time it was served, it was a bit cool. I like a steak hot. This was not. I did not complain -- it was fine, just not hot. By the time I had eaten the last morsel, it was definitely cold. If you like rare, this is perfect for you.
I agree with the other reviewers that this is a beautiful restaurant overlooking the fountains. During the weekend, the fountains are active every 15 minutes, so this is quite a show while you dine. Very romantic.
