  • This is a difficult review for me to rate as some aspects are great and others not so much. My reviews are typically 4 or 5 stars but this struggle to gets a 2. I arrived at the dealership mid-morning not knowing if a vehicle would be purchased or not. I specifically wanted something that could be flat towed behind a motor home and mentioned this several times. The sales person immediately approached me and was very courteous. He asked me questions and showed me some different vehicles. The deal itself and the price were acceptable. I get home and read the owners manual pertaining to flat towing. It turns out I need a special wiring harness from Jeep/MOPAR that was never explained. I made it clear what the vehicle was for. Several people spoke to me about towing and told me the normal things that need to done to town the vehicle. They also showed me how to disengage the transfer case. Now it turns out my new Cherokee cannot be towed behind a motor home without a special wiring harness. This was never explained to me or the purchase would not have happened. I spoke to service today to find out the required wiring harness is not even manufactured yet. I bought a 2017 closeout and they still don't have the part for it in 2018. The guy in service went on to tell me the Cherokee is not really towed much and that I should have considered a different Jeep model for towing. Maybe he should work in the sales department and I would not be going through this mess. I'm really upset I have a BRAND NEW 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk that cannot be flat towed safely. The wiring harness evidently is used to prevent something known as a "death wobble." It would have been nice to know that my vehicle was not suitable for towing. Especially since that is the reason I got it. I'm currently on the phone with Jeep Headquarters trying to work out a resolution. Wish me luck. I cannot in good conscious recommend Jim Marsh Jeep to anyone. Please read my other reviews pertaining to purchases and you will see they are all a great experience. It is VERY rare for me to post a negative review.
