  • I recently purchased a 2016 RX-350 from Lexus of Las Vegas. I thought I'd share my purchase experience. I special ordered the vehicle in late 2015. The vehicle did not arrive until mid-March 2016. Who special orders a vehicle these days? Well, I did as I wanted particular options. I worked with Troy Hammond. He spent a LOT of time with me. Troy endured my insistence upon an exact vehicle and walked me thru the purchase experience. He was upfront during our negotiations and I felt our agreed upon terms for the vehicle were fair. I should point out that Troy actually "listened" to me about what I wanted in a vehicle. His empathy was noteworthy. Waiting for the vehicle was difficult but Troy staid in touch and kept me posted on developments. He was always quick to return calls and emails. When the vehicle finally arrived, we scheduled our "delivery" [I called it a "training" date since one needs to be "trained" to operate some of the electronics]. We completed all the paperwork and Troy, and staff, gave us a run down on the vehicle. After the "training", I felt comfortable driving the vehicle off the lot. Don't snicker. An upgraded RX-350 has a LOT of electrical gadgetry. Troy even programmed our phones, and home address, into the car's navigation system. The next day, when I failed to successfully program our garage door into the car's system, Troy came by our home and quickly accomplished the task. I would be happy to work with him again. Now, on to some other areas: Before taking delivery, the requisite titling paperwork and "up sell" took place. Yes, every dealership tries to "offer" a variety of extra products and services before you leave. Some of the extras may work for you and some may not. We spent some pleasant time with Leon Bolder completing our paperwork. Leon proposed some straight-forward options, including warranty extension, tire & rim coverage and interior coverage. He was candid about what each offered. He afforded my wife and I some time to privately discuss the options. While we only elected one of the options (tire & rim---my wife has had bad tire experience with her vehicle), we felt comfortable with selecting the option. Was it a "hard sell", NO. Leon was low key and accommodating. There was no pressure to buy the "up sell" options. I am comfortable that Leon will stand behind the option he offered, should we need to exercise the coverage. Finally, my general comments about the dealership itself: The facility is well kept. The service department area is very clean, although I have not yet had any direct contact with the department. The facility's employees all present a sharp and professional image. The lounge space is very comfortable and accommodating. Refreshments are available. Did I mention that fresh baked warm cookies are available at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Maybe the warm cookies sealed the deal for me? No, however, they did make me smile. I think I'm going to like being a long term customer here at Lexus of Las Vegas.
