The spa itself was nice and well appointed. The steam room was extra steamy, which I love. Hate steam rooms that are skimpy on steam. Jacuzzi nice and hot, and clean. Relaxing tranquil decor and locker room area is well appointed. Booked a 50 minute facial, and it was only 35 minutes. Hey, what happened, they were not that busy? While the esthetician did a good job, it was clear she was making up time from the previous client. Felt rushed, and impersonal vs. relaxing and indulgent. I expressed an interested in one of the products, and she did not even bother to provide additional info to ensure a sale.
Afterward went upstairs to the salon to get a haircut. Nice, but I can get the same level of service and styling in town. I expect to pay more at a resort in exchange for a superior experience. Also, the stylist was running behind, and it became apparent I had to wait for her to finish a smoke break. Eww, she stunk!
All in all a lovely, well appointed, and well thought out spa, its just that staff were impersonal, and just going through the motions to just get through their (hungover?) Saturday; it detracted from the overall experience.
