| - While Marriott has always been my preferred place to stay, I stayed here because my training was given in one of the meeting rooms. Part of my low rating is due to the air conditioner in the meeting room having a bad filter, such that some cool air was coming out the sides of it but not the center, and the room stayed warmer than it should have. Shuttle service was par exellence and the staff was attentive and helpful, which is why I give the place two stars instead of one. It's the many room problems which bring my ratings down. They gave me a disabled access room which I didn't need, meaning there was a walk-in shower with a big wall-chair. Thankfully, at least the air conditioner in the room worked well, and the pool area was nice and the grounds clean. Biggest issue was that the door to the room did not close all the way automatically, and I came back one night to find that the cleaning staff had not shut it all the way. Thankfully, none of my stuff was missing. The bathroom door, on the other hand, was on a spring and tended not to stay open, so it took more time than it should have for the steam to clear after I showered. Also, the bathroom door had a couple of holes in it, a bit damaged from the inside (not all the way through, but it did look bad). And the lighting in the bathroom was also badly in need of an upgrade. It was lit by the type of fluorescent bulb that flickers for several seconds before finally coming on part way with a steady light, and then a few more seconds for full light (which honestly wasn't all that great). Therefore, I had to leave the light on all night because using the bathroom in the middle of the night would have presented a problem otherwise. Add to this that both the cable service on the television AND internet access were intermittent. When I tried watching in the evening usually only half of the channels had any reception. As for internet, I had to re-sign in at least twice each day to get access, and even then it would periodically blink out before coming back on, I'd get "disconnected" messages all the time.
If I ever return to the area, I'll be choosing another hotel, as there are plenty around the area within walking distance to this place.
