I have decided not to do business with Vivint for the immediate display of questionable business ethics from the salesman, Santo Amodeo.
During his visit, Santo gave me information about the process of getting solar, and the requirements.
I was open to the idea of a second consultation to evaluate my needs.
This morning, I received a credit alert informing me that Vivint ran my credit for a loan to fund the solar installation.
At no point did Santo inform me that my credit would be ran, or that I was applying for a loan.
Now I have a hard inquiry on my credit report for something that I will not move forward with.
Now it bears mentioning that I did sign a consent for this company to run my credit, but I signed it with the impression that it was just for the follow up and measurements for the panels, as I did not give them my SSN.
I should have read the document I was signing. But I believe Santo should have been upfront about running my credit to apply for a loan, knowing that all I wanted at this point was more information and time to think it over.
Needless to say, when I do have solar installed, it will not be with Santo Amodeo and Vivint.
