Scam artists. They operate like a disreputable car dealership, not a dental office. I went in knowing I needed a root canal. After the dentist looked at my x-rays and confirmed I needed a root canal, the "office manager" gave me an un-itemized "treatment plan" that would have cost over $7000, even with my insurance. I asked why it was so high and what was included. The "office manager" (she was just like a finance manager at a sleezy car dealership) initially claimed that itemizing it would not be possible, but eventually relented and did a partial hand-written list on the treatment plan form. After what felt like we were negotiating the price of a car with and without options, we eventually got it down to $3000 just for the root canal if I opted to not get the $150 toothbrush, $200 oral cancer test, the over $2000 cleanings, and a bunch of other crap I had not asked for and had not been told were part of any treatment plan by the dentist. I left and will never go back. Aspen Dental is just a bunch of crooks. I am so glad I decided to get a second opinion from a reputable dental office. The root canal was done right and cost me less than $300.
